A major Coronation Street character is set to confess to Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) murder in upcoming scenes, much to the horror of her family.

Joel’s body was found floating in a river at the beginning of October, and the pathologist’s report concluded that he had been killed before hitting the water.

Since then, suspicions have risen about who could be responsible, with countless suspects in the frame.

However, in upcoming scenes, one suspect is set to come forward and confess everything.

DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) has been in charge of Joel’s murder case ever since DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) was taken off it, and so far he hasn’t made much progress.

In upcoming scenes, he questions his boss after finding an unsent message on her phone suggesting that she wanted Joel dead.

Viewers will know that Lisa was one of many people personally affected by Joel’s crimes, as he used her daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) to procure abortion pills to try and get rid of Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) baby.

Later, Lisa is summoned to the station, and suspicious Kit demands to know where she was on the night of Joel’s death – but is he on the right track?

It would appear not, as elsewhere Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) finally cracks and admits to Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) that she killed Joel!

Viewers will remember that a recent flashback showed Dee-Dee approaching Joel’s car with a crowbar, only to find him sat inside, before later washing blood off the weapon.

Dee-Dee asserts that she is going to hand herself into the police, but Ed is against the idea.

As he tries to talk her out of it, will he succeed?
