Troubled Corrie couple reunite after weeks of torment – but there’s one condition
It’s been a traumatic few weeks for Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) in Coronation Street, but next week there’s some good news on the horizon, as she reunites with boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
Last month, Bethany’s whole life changed overnight when a cosmetic procedure went wrong, and she was forced to undergo emergency surgery in Turkey.
As her family have faced paying off an enormous medical bill, Bethany has been struggling to adapt to living with a stoma bag.
In recent scenes, things got even worse when she learnt that Daniel had missed the initial calls from the hospital because he was with ex-girlfriend Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan).
Daniel was then left stunned when Bethany announced that she wasn’t the same person he had fallen in love with, and that because of her stoma bag, she saw herself and their relationship differently now.
Despite Daniel’s protestations, Bethany was adamant that in six months he wouldn’t be sticking around because he loved her, but because he felt obligated, and broke off their relationship.
Bethany begins to reconsider things between them in scenes to air next week, after Daniel accompanies her to a hospital appointment.
Putting on a brave face, she later agrees to go to the pub with him for the space launch of Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) ashes.
However, she’s mortified to discover her stoma bag is leaking and hurries out.
