This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX.

Coronation Street has confirmed another suspect in Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) murder case with a shocking move from DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).

Kit has been in charge of the murder case ever since DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) was deemed too personally connected to be impartial – though that hasn’t stopped her from giving her opinions and advice on the investigation.

In last night’s episode, Lisa suggested that Joel may have been carrying personal belongings with him, and that tracking them down may lead Kit to the killer.

While Kit brushed her off to her face, he later asked Craig to look into it, clearly keen to follow the lead.

However, that wasn’t the only thing Lisa had tucked up her sleeve.

After being tasked with a case of a stolen catalytic converter, Lisa realised that the car involved had been damaged on the same night that Joel was killed, just down the road from his flat.

When Lisa decided to take some time off work, after Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) expressed her fears about her dying on duty, the detective sergeant passed her suspicions onto Kit.

Later that day, Kit received a list of red cars suspected to be involved in the accident, and he was quick to check that neither Lisa nor PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) looked at it.

After being assured that he was the first to set eyes on the list, Kit discreetly scrolled through it, before removing information about his own car…

Has Kit got something serious to hide? Did he kill Joel?
