Sinister text found that ‘exposes’ Joel Deering’s true killer in Coronation Street
The hunt is still well and truly on for Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) killer in Coronation Street, and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is set to make a shocking discovery that points him toward a new suspect.
This week has seen DS Lisa Swain’s (Vicky Myers) career take quite a battering, after daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) reported her for harassment.
Betsy emotionally confessed that she was terrified of her mum dying on duty and had tried to get her suspended to protect her.
As part of the investigation into the harassment complaint, Lisa had to hand over her phones to her boss – a move which is set to put her in the frame for murder.
In upcoming scenes, while Lisa struggles to buy festival tickets for her and Betsy, she gets a message summoning her to the station.
In a new video, Kit confronts her and reveals that they found an unsent text on her phone suggesting that she wanted Joel dead, and he demands to know where she was on the night of his murder.
Viewers will know that Lisa was out fighting crime, and had gone after a handbag thief who clipped her with his car as he made an escape – but will Kit believe her?
Lisa may later be set to be proved innocent when another suspect prepares to hand themself into the police.
Dee-Dee confesses all to Ed (Picture: ITV)
After struggling in the weeks following Joel’s death, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) is set to confess to Joel’s murder to Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges).
Viewers will know that Dee-Dee went after Joel with a crowbar on the night of his death, and later washed blood off the weapon in her sink.
Dee-Dee breaks down and tells Ed that she is going to hand herself into the police, but he is totally against the idea.
Will Ed persuade her to keep quiet? And if he does, what will that mean for Lisa?
