Coronation Street finally confirms who killed Joel Deering
Coronation Street fans are finally set to find out who killed Joel Deering (Calum Lill) in a dramatic episode next week.
Joel went missing at the end of September, and his body was later found floating in a local river.
However, the pathologist determined that he had died before hitting the water, and the police immediately launched a murder investigation.
In an upcoming episode, a series of flashbacks interspersed with DC Kit Green’s (Jacob Roberts) interviews of the main suspects are set to finally reveal what really happened on the night of Joel’s murder.
There are plenty of Corrie locals in the frame for the attack, and in the days leading up to the big reveal, several of them are on edge.
Believing that she has killed Joel, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) prepares to hand herself into the police.
Viewers will remember that a flashback revealed that Dee-Dee had confronted Joel with a crowbar on the night of his death, before later washing blood from it in her kitchen sink.
She heads to the station and admits that she hit Joel with a crowbar in self-defence, though he was alive when she left him.
Lisa thinks she is being framed (Picture: ITV)
However, things take a shock turn when another piece of evidence comes to light…
Elsewhere, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) confides in Carla Connor (Alison King) that she fears she is being framed for Joel’s death.
She explains how someone planted her issue CS spray with the murder weapon, and she suspects it was the killer themself.
As Lisa retraces her steps to try to work out who stole the spray, will it lead her to the killer? Or is she simply trying to cover her own tracks?
