Bethany Platt’s devastating reaction as she realises she can’t have sex with Daniel Osbourne in Coronation Street
Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) had a devastating reaction when she realised that she couldn’t have sex with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) in recent Coronation Street scenes.
Bethany has been struggling ever since returning home from Turkey, where she underwent life-saving surgery after botched liposuction.
The aspiring journalist was devastated to learn that she had to have a permanent stoma bag, after her bowel was damaged during the failed cosmetic procedure.
Since then, her self-esteem has suffered, as she has tried to navigate her new way of life.
Earlier this week, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) encouraged her to join him in the Rovers – though things took a turn for the worse when her stoma bag leaked, leaving her humiliated.
On arriving home, Bethany sorted through all of her nice clothes and made the decision to donate them all to charity, having decided that she wouldn’t be able to wear them anymore.
As Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) tried to convince her not to act so impulsively, she also asked what she would do about her relationship with Daniel, who she had ordered out after returning to the flat.

In tonight’s episode, Bethany visited Daniel and made it clear that she still wanted to be with him.
As the pair kissed, Daniel checked in to make sure she was okay with what was happening, and she assured him that she was.
However, when Daniel accidentally brushed his hand across her stoma bag, Bethany was put off, and grew frustrated with herself.
She admitted to Daniel that she thought she was ready to have sex with him again, but that it was clearly too soon.
Annoyed by the setback, Bethany headed back to her flat, where she asked Daniel to take her clothes to the charity shop, having made up her mind about getting rid of them.
Knowing that Bethany may later regret her decision, Daniel took the clothes to the Rovers, where he asked Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) to keep hold of them, in case Bethany changed her mind.
How will Bethany react if she finds out he’s gone against her wishes?
