Passion explodes as fan favourite Coronation Street couple finally sleep together and a surprise admission follows

Coronation Street has given us all an early Christmas present with recent scenes that saw Carla Connor (Alison King) and DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) finally give in to their feelings for each other.
Fans have been eager for the women to make things official for a long time, and tonight our wishes were finally granted.
The ultimate enemies to friends to lovers slow-burn began last October when Carla and Lisa first met, and it has certainly been a tumultuous 13 months.
Despite their differences, Carla and Lisa began to grow close during the detective sergeant’s investigation into missing Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), and soon the lines between friendship and something more began to blur.
In October, the pair shared a charged moment which left them both spooked, before they decided to get their friendship back on track.
One person that Carla has been honest with throughout the whole ‘Lisa situation’ has been Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), and it was him who urged her to make her move in recent scenes.
During a frank conversation, Carla admitted that she liked Lisa, but that this was unchartered waters for her and she wasn’t sure what she was doing.
Ryan was quick to point out that any new relationship can feel like that, and begged her to stop being stubborn and make a move.
Following Ryan’s advice, Carla headed back to her flat, where she found Lisa getting dressed after spending the night on the sofa.
However, Carla told her not to bother putting her clothes back on, before grabbing her face and kissing her – something that Lisa was quick to reciprocate.
When Carla later emerged from the bedroom, she pointed out that Lisa’s phone had been ringing, but the detective told her to ignore it before ordering her back to bed for round two.
Once they’d had enough, the women settled on Carla’s sofa, where Lisa asked if that was really Carla’s first time with a woman.
Carla admitted that it was, before confessing to kissing girls as a teenager to ‘titillate the lad she fancied’.
After some consideration, she also revealed that there was a girl at school she had had a crush on, and had followed her around wherever she went, despite not being treated well by her.
Unfortunately, Carla and Lisa’s bliss was not set to last long, as Lisa soon discovered that Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) was in trouble.
When she later met her in the Rovers and apologised for missing her call to help, Betsy took next to no time to notice that she was wearing one of Carla’s tops, and soon put two and two together.
Horrified that her mum was replacing Becky so soon after her birthday, Betsy threw a drink over Lisa, before storming out.
With Betsy having reacted badly, Lisa was on edge, and Carla only made things worse when she questioned Lisa’s parenting.
Furious and concerned for Betsy, Lisa insisted that they should keep their distance, leaving Carla hurt.
Later, Carla found Betsy and warned her that she needed to grow up and allow her mum to move on so that she could be happy.
Betsy took this pep talk badly, and decided to take revenge on Carla by agreeing to allow Matty and Logan Radcliffe (Seamus McGoff and Harry Lowbridge) to ransack the factory the next day, with her help.
Unfortunately, this is set to have horrifying consequences for Carla when she is attacked next week.
Will Carla’s predicament lead Lisa to have second thoughts about ending their relationship before it has even begun?
