Coronation Street legend rushed to hospital with bleed on the brain
This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV, but is available to watch now on ITVX.
One Coronation Street legend’s life is in danger after some dramatic scenes in the ITV soap.
Last week, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) made a dangerous deal with Matty and Logan Radcliffe (Seamus McGoff and Harry Lowbridge) when she offered to help them rob the factory, after learning that Carla Connor (Alison King) had slept with her mum, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).
However, the easy job soon proved to be far more complicated, and could end up landing Betsy in a whole heap of trouble.
With the factory lot away on a team-building excursion, the whole plan was supposed to be risk free – until Carla threw a spanner in the works.
Having skipped the team-building trip, Carla was horrified when she returned to the factory and found the place ransacked.
With Matty and Logan still lurking in the shadows, Carla was suddenly struck over the head and knocked unconscious, before the criminals made their escape.
When she came round, she was adamant that she didn’t want to go to hospital, and Betsy feigned ignorance as she asked what had happened.
Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) and Roy Cropper (David Neilson) were equally horrified by the ordeal, and urged Carla to go home and rest, though she insisted that she wanted to sort things out at the factory.
Relenting, Ryan warned Carla to lock the factory doors behind them as they headed off, leaving her alone.
Meanwhile, Betsy was summoned by Matty and Logan, and railed at them for not being quick enough and hurting Carla.
Desperate to get Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) off the hook, she asked them if they were quits, and was left worried when they warned that if they got sent down, they’d take her with them.
Wanting to keep her involvement in the robbery under wraps, Betsy headed back to the factory to return the keys she’d stolen, but was shocked to find Carla unconscious on the floor.
Betsy was quick to ring an ambulance, before heading to the police station to update Lisa on the situation.
Despite having made it clear that she wasn’t ready for a relationship with Carla earlier that day, Lisa was clearly devastated to learn of the attack, and raced herself and Betsy to the hospital.
When they arrived, Ryan informed them that Carla had been taken into emergency surgery for a bleed on the brain.
Will Carla be okay?
