Coronation Street favourite wins praise as she defends young co-star against trolling
Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has spoken out in defence of co-star Sydney Martin against online trolls, sparking a sweet response from the young actress.
The DS Lisa Swain star took to Twitter/X to reply to a now-hidden comment from a troll, praising Sydney’s acting talents.
‘She’s far from awful. Quite the opposite actually,’ she wrote.
In response, the Betsy Swain actress replied: ‘Love you mama bear.’
Other Corrie fans were quick to echo Vicky’s sentiments, marvelling at Sydney’s recent performances.
‘Her talent is off the scale! Absolutely smashing all scenes, powerful stuff right now!’ Helen wrote, while Ellie said: ‘Sydney is so amazing and so incredible and so talented!’
Sydney’s character Betsy has been causing a lot of trouble on the cobbles of late, after discovering that boss Carla Connor (Alison King) had slept with Lisa.
In retaliation, Betsy organised for Matty and Logan Radcliffe (Seamus McGoff and Harry Lowbridge) to rob the factory.
However, things didn’t go to plan when Carla interrupted the break-in, and Logan ended up knocking her unconscious.
Now, she is in hospital with a bleed on the brain, leaving Betsy, Lisa, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) and Roy Cropper (David Neilson) terrified.
