Coronation Street’s David ‘goes hell-bent psycho’ to ‘f*** up’ Kit’s life after betrayal

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has teased there will be hell for Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) if his character David Platt finds out Kit has slept with his wife Shona Platt (Julia Goulding).

There was a shock twist in the ITV soap last week when Shona cheated on David with the police officer, after she learned about how David has been intercepting messages from her son Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison) in prison.

There has been a deepening divide between David and Shona in recent weeks, as David has been determined not to let the person who killed his first wife Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) back into their lives.

David is currently in the dark about Shona and Kit’s night of passion, but Jack warned David will ‘f*** up his life’ when he finds out.

‘I think he’ll react in a way where he’ll have to try and get his own back somehow,’ he told Metro. ‘And he’ll have to try and do it in a clever way.

‘With Kit being six foot taller than David, he won’t be able to take him on physically. It’ll have to be something sort of mentally.

‘He’ll do something to f*** his life up somehow. That’s what he’ll do.’

As fans know, David has a dark side, which once saw him push mother Gail Platt (Helen Worth) down the stairs.

Jack hinted we could see that side of his character emerge again in the coming weeks.

‘As soon as something threatens his family he goes hell-bent, sort of psycho,’ he said.

‘He always sort of cracks under pressure, doesn’t he? It looks like he’s got it all together then he kind of does something extreme, like he’ll run someone over. Or he’ll try and poison someone or something.

‘He’ll always try and do something a bit extreme.’

Jack also believes David will wrestle with his feelings for Shona when the truth does emerge.

Asked if David loves her, he said: ‘I think that’s what makes it so painful for him when he does find out. It also makes it so hard for him to break the marriage up, because he does still love her. I think he’s kind of p***ed off with himself that he does, that he fell in love with her in the first place.

‘She’s the mother of the lad who killed his wife, so it should never have happened.

‘It’s a sleeping giant that just will not go away.’
