Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) was left devastated when she discovered that she was pregnant with Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) baby in recent Coronation Street scenes, and tonight’s episode saw her make a big decision.

Joel and Dee-Dee were engaged until she uncovered his vile crimes and promptly ended things.

Despite her commitment to not having sex before marriage, Dee-Dee slept with Joel once before their break-up and fell pregnant.

While still dealing with the aftermath of Joel’s death, Dee-Dee confided in Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), who gave her some first-hand advice, having also had a baby with a violent criminal.

Dee-Dee made it clear to Sarah that she was torn about what to do, as she was worried she would constantly be reminded of Joel if she had the baby.

In tonight’s episode, Dee-Dee was still clearly cut-up about the pregnancy, and revealed to Sarah that she still hadn’t told anyone else about her situation.

When Dee-Dee explained that she had her first scan scheduled for that afternoon, Sarah offered to go with her.

However, when it came time for the appointment, Dee-Dee was nowhere to be seen.

When Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) revealed that she’d also been a no-show for dinner with their dad, worried Sarah accompanied him to Dee-Dee’s flat, where they finally found her.

It was there that Dee-Dee told Michael about her pregnancy, and revealed that she had made the decision to terminate it.

She explained that she needed to do what was best for her in the long run, and Michael and Sarah were both totally supportive.
