Major Coronation Street couple ‘set to reunite’ as legend falls for ex
This article contains spoilers for tonight’s episode of Coronation Street, which airs at 8pm on ITV1 but is available to watch now on ITVX.
Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) has confessed her love for ex-fiancé Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) – leaving him in an awkward position with girlfriend Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
The pair have been separated since last year, when she decided to pursue an affair with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott). The feelings were sparked when Ryan protected her during a horrific targeted acid attack.
Daniel was left devastated, but later reunited with his old flame Bethany.
In recent months, following her botched Turkish cosmetic surgery, she’s began to shut him off and the pair have struggled with intimacy.
To make matters worse, Bethany allowed a stoma support group to believe she was a cancer survivor. The revelation sparked fury in Daniel, who lost his ex-wife Sinead to the disease.
It became clear earlier this week that Daisy was harbouring feelings for Daniel, after she witnessed him steal Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) flashy new car and crash it into the memorial garden on Victoria Street.
Rushing to his aid, she ordered him back to the Rovers as she drove off to conceal any evidence.

In doing so, she accidentally knocked Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) off her feet and broke her wrist. The incident was subsequently picked up on CCTV, which was obtained by detective Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) – who Daisy has been dating.
In today’s episode, he approached her with the incriminating footage and she admitted to dumping the vehicle in a back street.
He hid the video from his colleague Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), who was keen to get to the bottom of what happened and informed Debbie that the case had been closed.
Elsewhere, Daniel had pleaded with Bethany to take him back after he lashed out at her over the cancer lie. She had been egged on from mum Sarah (Tina O’Brien) to start afresh, and began packing her bags.
He found comfort in pouring his heart out to Daisy, in shock that she would go to such lengths to protect him. She made it clear that she wanted them to try out a relationship, but he felt torn by his feelings.
Suddenly, the two ended up in a passionate embrace – something which Daniel deeply regretted afterwards, especially when Bethany had second thoughts.
Meanwhile, Shona had admitted to Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) that she’d had a near-miss, and he encouraged her to report it to the police.
