Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) is about to face the wrath of her sister in Coronation Street as Leanne (Jane Danson) goes in search of revenge for stealing partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) from her.
Toyah and Nick started seeing each other when Leanne was embroiled in the storyline with The Institute. Following weeks of hurt as Leanne discovered the betrayal, Toyah and Nick took a massive risk and decided to continue their relationship.
However, in order to prevent Leanne from further turmoil, they initially agreed to see each other in secret.
Because this is a soap, the secret wasn’t going to continue forever. Leanne knows about the relationship and in upcoming scenes, she will make a payment of £789 from Toyah’s fake account as her revenge gathers pace.
When Nick returns from his holiday abroad just days before Christmas, Leanne explains there’s a problem with the accounts. Nick calls the bank and freezes a suspicious company from the figures list.
Toyah then heads into the Bistro. She’s looking forward to seeing Nick, but her focus quickly shifts when Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) arrives to arrest Toyah on suspicious of theft and fraud by abuse of trust.
‘It’s an enormous shock, she’s completely blindsided by it because she hasn’t done anything wrong’, Georgia Taylor said, describing these scenes.
‘Nick’s been away with Sam, she’s really missed him but in the meantime Leanne has been really messing with them both, sending text messages which we may later find out not be true, so Toyah is desperate to see Nick and make sure they’re still on track, then she’s met by this.

‘She walks into the bistro giddy to see him and then Kit is there arresting her on suspicion of fraud which is the last thing she thought was ever going to happen.’
Georgia goes on to reveal that at first, her character has no idea who could’ve been behind this evil plan. As time ticks on though, the penny slowly starts to drop.
‘In order to set up this fake bank account the person who has done it must have known a lot of personal information about Toyah so then she starts to think hang on, only a really small amount of people know this stuff and Leanne is one of them’, she said.
‘She then starts to wonder if Leanne knows that she and Nick are back together rather than them keeping it secret as they thought!’
Pondering over Toyah’s shock as she learns what Leanne has done, Georgia revealed: ‘It’s huge, it’s not just slapping someone round the face or chopping their clothes up, it’s potentially incarcerating someone for something they didn’t do.
‘Obviously it shows that Leanne is hurt but I think it also shows she’s quite unhinged, so it’s quite a nerve wracking time for both Toyah and Nick to see what lengths she will go to.’
