Coronation Street star speaks out as he’s set to appear on two soaps at once
Coronation Street star Gareth Pierce is heading back to Ambridge this week, after reprising his role in The Archers.
Before the actor took over the role of Todd Grimshaw on the ITV soap, he lent his voice to the character of Gavin Moss in the BBC Radio 4 serial.
The 43-year-old star confirmed that fans will be able to catch him back on the airwaves this week, as he makes a return appearance as Gavin.
Gavin’s reappearance means Gareth has achieved the rare feat of being part of two soap casts at the same time.
Posting on his Instagram Story, Gareth confirmed the news after Archers fans recognised his voice on the show.
He wrote: ‘Some eagle-eared listeners have spotted Gavin Moss is back in Ambridge this week…’
As well as his role in The Archers, Gareth was also known for his role as Lenny Mack in Sky 1’s Stella.
He also starred in Ordinary Lies and Hinterland for the BBC.
Gareth became the second actor to play Corrie’s Todd after joining the show in 2020.
He took over from original actor Bruno Langley, who played the character for 16 years until 2017.
In recent months, Todd has been involved in the powerful and emotional storyline involving Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease last year.
Fans also saw Todd become interested in Paul’s carer Moses (Michael Fatogun), but this sadly never developed into a relationship as Moses left Weatherfield for London.
However, Gareth recently hinted Corrie could revisit their romantic connection, suggesting Moses might return in the coming months.
