Coronation Street legend reels as she’s told she has to work Christmas Day
Coronation Street legend Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) has been left reeling after being told she has to work Christmas Day.
In last night’s episode, the Bistro manager was already disappointed at having to miss out on a holiday to Tenerife with Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) after Leanne Battersby’s (Jane Danson) meddling.
Having discovered her sister’s secret relationship with her ex, Leanne got her own back by making arrangements for Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) to join him on holiday – putting a stop to all the plans Nick and Toyah had made.
However, her revenge didn’t stop there, as she revelled in telling Toyah that she would need to work Christmas Day, as Nick had asked her to be his guest to Gail Platt’s (Helen Worth) wedding.
Gail is set to tie the knot with Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson) on Christmas Day, though whether or not they will end up as husband and wife remains to be seen.
Toyah put on a brave face, but she was clearly hurt by the idea of Nick cosying up to Leanne instead of her.
Later, Leanne twisted the knife even further by faking a text message from Nick, and enthusing to Toyah that he had text her to let her know he’d landed safely.
She went on to pretend to call him, making out that he had said that he wished she was there.
That proved to be the tipping point for Toyah, who excused herself into the kitchen.
As Leanne looked on smugly, she revealed to an impressed Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) that it had all been pretend and part of her plan to come between Nick and Toyah.

Tracy thought the whole situation was incredibly amusing, and insisted that Leanne was even more evil than her.
Is Tracy right? How much further will Leanne go to destroy Nick and Toyah?
In upcoming scenes, Toyah and Nick are set to get a visit from the police when Leanne accuses them of committing fraud.
Could she be set to ruin their lives?
