Coronation Street confirms unexpected twist for Gail in spoiler video as Audrey breaks big news
A new Coronation Street spoiler video reveals heartbreak for Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth) at her leaving party, when mum Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) drops a huge bombshell.
It’s set to be an emotional week for fans of the ITV soap as we bid farewell to stalwart Gail after a whopping 50 years on the cobbles.
Helen’s tenure is an incredible achievement, and she certainly isn’t going without a bang as the Weatherfield residents gather in the Rovers Return to wish her well on Christmas Eve.
With goodbye banners and pictures of times gone by adorning the walls and booths of the world’s most famous boozer, some of Gail’s nearest and dearest are on hand to surprise the matriarch and her husband-to-be Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson).
But not everybody is happy to see her move to the south of France…
Audrey was visibly unimpressed by her decision, and also the fact she’d now be marrying for the seventh time.
She’s even went as far to fake an illness, dropping her thermometer in a cup of tea to make it seem like she had an unusually high temperature.
As the spoiler video shows, Gail and Jesse walk into the pub and are met with cheers from old pals Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) and Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney).
Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) hands her a drink before heading behind the bar to join step-mum Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) and boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Stalwarts Ken Barlow (William Roache), Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) watch on from a booth as Audrey and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) walk in.
Audrey asserts that she’s not there to give her blessing – she wants Gail to know that Jesse and David (Jack P. Shepherd) have been up to no good!
She is, of course, referring to the huge amount of money which David stole from gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) in order to buy No. 8.
How will Jesse explain this one, and will the wedding go ahead?
