Abi Webster (Sally Carman) is struggling in upcoming Coronation Street episodes after witnessing a horrific event that triggers memories of the terrible death of her son, Seb (Harry Visinoni).

Seb was attacked in 2021 by Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and his gang when out for a walk with girlfriend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher),who was also attacked. Doctors battled to save Seb’s life but he died soon afterwards. Abi was torn apart by grief and made it her mission to seek justice for her son in the aftermath.

In episodes to be aired soon, there’s a terrible echo of what happened to Seb, but this time the victim is Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan).

Mason has become something of a reformed character of late, after initially being a vile bully. He’s repeatedly stood up to his violent brothers and when Lisa (Vicky Myers) shows him proof that his brothers could have been responsible for the death of her wife Becky, he wants to help.

He searches Matty (Séamus McGoff) and Logan (Harry Lowbridge)’s flat and finds the proof that Lisa has been looking for. Having done this, Mason knows he’s a marked man as far as his brothers are concerned and quickly makes plans to leave Weatherfield to escape from them.

Unfortunately it’s not long before Matty and Logan catch up with him and Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne). As Dylan escapes, Mason is brutally attacked.

Abi finds the young man seriously wounded and bleeding profusely and she does her best to help. Betsy (Sydney Martin) and Abi try to reassure Mason as an ambulance arrives and he’s rushed to hospital.

This horrific event leaves Abi feeling deeply unsettled, and in her mind she begins to confuse the events she’s just seen with what happened to Seb. As she watches her son, Alfie, playing in the play area she can’t help but go over the events in her mind.

While she’s distracted, she realises that Alfie has vanished and frantically starts searching the precinct for him.

Eventually she spots him, walking hand in hand with Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor). Toyah has obviously seen the little boy wandering on his own and is bringing him back to Abi, but in her confused and distraught state Abi accuses Toyah of abducting her son.

Back at home, she’s hyper-vigilant and won’t take her eyes off Alfie, terrified something bad is going to happen to him. Kevin (Michael Le Vell) is concerned.

Will Abi accept she needs help?
