EastEnders Twist: Killer Reiss’s Actions Trigger Serious Consequences for Sonia
EastEnders killer Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) makes a huge misstep in his attempt to free imprisoned Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), which could have devastating consequences for his fiancée next week.
Last year, Sonia was wrongly arrested for the murder of Reiss’ comatose wife Debbie, who Reiss smothered to death in her care home bed in a bid to solve his money woes.
While he has stopped short of admitting his guilt, he has been resolute in his attempts to get Sonia out of prison.
But in scenes to air next week, Sonia is set to take to the stand as her murder trial begins, marking the return of actress Natalie Cassidy to the soap after an extended break from filming.
Ahead of the trial, Reiss heads to the prison to visit Sonia, where she desperately begs Reiss to help her prove her innocence.
She also tells him how important it is that her sister Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) is there to support her during the trial.
However, fans will remember that Reiss has been holding Bianca hostage in his storage unit since November after she uncovered his killer secret.
When Sonia arrives at court, she is disappointed to find that not only is Bianca not there, but Reiss is awol too.
Sonia’s ex-husband Martin Fowler (James Bye) is furious Reiss has not turned up and goes to visit him.
It then transpires Reiss has done something stupid, which has resulted in Sonia’s trial being adjourned – but what exactly has he been up to this time?
With Sonia now facing another wait until her day in court, will Bianca finally manage to escape the lock-up to expose the deadly truth?
