Spoilers for EastEnders may have teased who triggers Reiss Colwell’s downfall.
The character has evaded justice for the killing of his ex-wife Debbie Colwell last year, instead allowing his pregnant fiancée Sonia Fowler to be blamed. Sonia has been in prison for months, with her back onscreen next week.
The only person who has figured out the truth is Sonia’s sister Bianca Jackson, but Reiss has taken action to silence her. He attacked her before holding her hostage in an old storage unit, with no one knowing she’s there.
Residents think after some strange behaviour she simply fled Walford, unaware of Reiss’ dark actions. But now we might know who could save Bianca, and who might stop killer Reiss for once and for all amid a sinister 40th anniversary theory.
A spoiler for next week reveals Cindy Beale regains consciousness after being brutally attacked on Christmas Day. She wakes from her coma and soon learns she will be able to return home.
But as several characters remain hostile towards her, she has nowhere to go. Her son Peter Beale soon tries to help her out, and he begs Reiss to allow Cindy to stay in his home for a while.
With Sonia in prison and no one else around, Peter reminds him he has a spare room that Cindy can use. Reiss is reluctant but soon agrees, with Cindy soon moving in. She struggles to adapt to living with Reiss – but could she end up making a shocking discovery?
Viewers are convinced that Cindy will figure out what he’s hiding as she spends more time with him. Perhaps him constantly leaving to check in on Bianca will spark suspicion.
So might Cindy realise what’s gone on and find Bianca? Might she find out Reiss is the guilty one and the person who really killed Debbie, leading to Sonia being released?
Viewers certainly think so, questioning if this could be her redemption arc. The theory read: “Cindy is going to rescue Bianca and expose Reiss as the murderer and free Sonia! And that’s her redemption until she cheats on the next poor sod.”
It comes after fans speculated the Reiss storyline could come to a head next month in time for the show’s 40th anniversary. With pictures from filming teasing an explosion at The Queen Vic pub, some fans could not help but notice a car that had crashed into the side of the building.
Many fans were sure the car was identical to one owned by Reiss. So will Reiss cause the fire, or be somehow tied into the dramatic twist?
