There are some major developments amid Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) murder trial next week, particularly when Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) crashes the court and throws things into chaos more than once.
Meanwhile, as he spirals further and further into the mess, he has a blow to deliver to stunned Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer).
But it prompts her to come up with a very risky plan to save Sonia.
Elsewhere, Martin Fowler (James Bye) is also delivered a nasty bombshell – it’s not good news for the future of the market.
But step forward Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton), who has a scheme of her own to reverse the fortunes – but it could backfire.
And there are big developments for the Knights as new secrets around Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) attack come to light…
Monday January 20
Cindy wakes at No.25 as she continues to screen Peter’s calls, not knowing who to trust.
Reiss delivers another blow and asks Cindy to find a new place to stay. At No.45, Peter continues to stress about his mum’s wellbeing, and snaps at Kathy.
Later, Ian heads to No.25 speak to Cindy, and after a heart-to-heart, he convinces her to head to The Vic. Once there, Elaine, George and Gina make their feelings known.
Martin, Jack and Reiss head to the court to support Sonia, but it’s not long before things get out of hand when Reiss makes a scene which has huge consequences. Wanting to do what’s best for her unborn child, Sonia makes a decision.
Martin and Ruby are the vision of happiness, but it’s clear Ruby is jealous about his close relationship with Stacey. Martin tries to buoy Eve and Stacey about their livelihood, and upon hearing their new business idea, Martin makes a plan – he’s going to call a meeting with the council.
Later, Ruby reveals that Roman will be discharged from hospital, but it’s clear Martin is distracted, and has taken on too much.
Elsewhere, Jack and Denise continue to hide their feelings from one another.
Tuesday January 21
The Knights question Ian’s motives as Gina and Anna convince their dad to speak to Cindy.
Ian refuses to let George see Cindy, so Elaine sets up a plan to lure Ian to The Vic. It’s not long before Ian realises he’s been duped, and he to find George trying to turn Cindy against him.
Things get heated between the pair and George lashes out at Ian. Back at The Vic, Elaine follows George as he retreats to the barrel store to let out his anger, but he makes a discovery that stops him in his tracks…
Reiss heads to the lockup to visit Bianca and breaks down before revealing all about Sonia’s predicament. Bianca is incredulous, and tries to convince Reiss to confess
Reiss is about to leave, but Bianca makes one last ditch attempt to stop him…
Martin is stressed when the meeting with the councillor about the market gets brought forward, so Ruby offers to step in at the eleventh hour to help him.
At the Community Centre, the residents make their feelings known, but it’s not long before things take a turn when Ruby begins to argue with Councillor Barker.
Elsewhere, Nicola attempts to wind up Teddy and Sharon by inviting them to a double date with Jack in The Vic, but it’s not long before Nicola is left red-faced.
Wednesday January 22
Elaine and George are shocked at their discovery, and things get tense between the pair when they attempt to point the finger at one and other. George and Elaine decide to question Gina and Anna.
Bianca sets out her plan to Reiss. Bianca appears to be making headway, but after a few wrong words, Reiss fumes and leaves Bianca trapped. Back in the Square, Reiss is comforted by Ruby where he makes a decision following her advice.
At the court, Jack and Martin watch on as Sonia prepares to accept her fate but Reiss arrives at the eleventh hour.
In the café, Phil is uninterested when Callum returns from the States. Later, Callum and Nigel join forces to arrange a belated birthday party for Phil in The Vic, but Nigel backtracks on the plans when it’s clear Phil wants a quiet night in.
Nigel heads to The Vic to relay the news to Sharon and the rest of the Mitchell clan.
Elsewhere, Ruby is deflated but she decides to try a different tactic after a run in with Councillor Barker in the Minute Mart gives her inspiration…
Thursday January 23
Yolande tries to convince Nigel to come to church, but it’s clear he’s more concerned about Phil. Later, Sharon questions Nigel on Phil’s.
Ruby sees out a risky plan with Councillor Barker in an attempt to impress Martin.
Anna and Gina’s relationship with George and Elaine is tested by the events of the week. Later, Anna is shocked when she overhears a clandestine conversation between Harry and Gina at the Arches…
