EastEnders confirms gun horror in build up to 40th anniversary
Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) has made sinister plans to steal Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) gun in EastEnders.
The Walford legend is fearing for her life following a disturbing attack on Christmas Day, when she almost met her end at the hands of a snow shovel.
It won’t be until the BBC soap’s 40th anniversary next month when the finally find out who the mystery walloper is, but until then a number of her own friends and family have been put in the spotlight.
Let’s face it – they haven’t exactly helped themselves. Daughter Gina (Francesca Henry) launched a brick at her through a window, warning that her days are numbered.
The note attached read: ‘You should have stayed dead, now I’m coming for you.’
She’s now denied being part of the overall plot, saying that she merely didn’t want her estranged mother to return home to Albert Square.
The finger has also been pointed at her other daughter Anna (Molly Rainford), ex-husband George Knight (Colin Salmon) and his wife Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), who all found the shovel in the barrel store and decided to move it.
Rather than reporting it to the police, George stashed it away on The Queen Vic roof.
We can’t forget his bloody shirt, which was found in the cupboard behind the bar either. Despite his insistence that he was partaking in an illegal fight at the time, George admitted to Gina in tonight’s episode that he wasn’t being 100% truthful.
That wasn’t the only shock – the residents were reeling from the fall out of Gina’s one night stand with Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier), who was previously tipped to couple up with Anna.
He tried to get their friendship back on track, and whilst Anna seemed initially hopeful of a future together, she told him that it would be impossible to shake the picture of him sleeping with her sister – and that she deserved better.
Ian was adamant that Gina should be reported to authorities for throwing the brick, but Cindy wanted to deal with it her own way.
She headed to the pub and told George that she wanted the weapon.
Her ex-lover Junior Knight (Micah Balfour), who she was engaging in a steamy affair with prior to the vicious attack, was listening into their conversation.
George disappeared to retrieve it from the roof, only to return and explain that it had been taken.
