EastEnders’ Davood Ghadami transformed in major new Amazon Prime series

Former EastEnders star Davood Ghadami looks completely transformed in his exciting new role for an Amazon Prime series.

The actor, who played Kush Kazemi in the show, will appear in House of David, a historical drama series that follows the story of David, a king of ancient Israel and Judah and the third kind of the United Monarchy.

Egyptian American actor Michael Iskander will portray the teen starting off as a shepherd before eventually rising to power after being singled out by prophet Samuel as the nation’s next leader.

Davood will portray a character called Eliab. He was the eldest son of Jesse, and the eldest brother of King David.

Recently, Davood shared the teaser trailer for the series. He can be first seen around 50 seconds into the video, where Eliab tells David that he is not a man of God.

The comments section on Davood’s Instagram post was full of kind messages from his former EastEnders colleagues. Diane Parish, who plays Denise Fox, wrote: ‘Grinning from ear to ear! YAAAASS Davood! Love an epic. I know you are going to be incredible. Big love.’

Bonnie Langford, who portrayed Kush’s mum Carmel, said: ‘Brilliant!!! My kushy!!! Fantastic news xxx.’

Davood left EastEnders in 2021, when Kush was killed by Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith).

Following his EastEnders exit, he then played Doctor Eli Ebrahimi in Holby City just months before it was axed for good, and then starred in an episode of Beyond Paradise.

News broke about Holby City’s cancellation in 2021, with the final ever episode airing in March the following year.

In a few weeks time, Davood will feature in Lacey Turner’s new podcast We Started Here. He will speak alongside Rakhee Thakrar, who portrayed Kush’s wife Shabnam Masood in the soap.
