Billy and Honey are given a chilling shock amid EastEnders wedding plans
Billy (Perry Fenwick) and Honey Mitchell’s (Emma Barton) wedding plans are derailed in EastEnders next week following Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) disappearance.
Last year, the BBC soap recorded scenes during the London Marathon, with actors Emma Barton and co-star Jamie Borthwick appearing in character as Honey and Jay Brown along the route.
Billy was preparing an emotional proposal for his ex-wife at the finish line, but he’d lost the ring.
In a surprise move, she got down on one knee and popped the question instead. They decided to keep the engagement a secret, allowing their nearest and dearest to watch the events proceeding on television instead.
The much-loved couple are now preparing to walk down the aisle on February 19, 2025 – which coincidently is the soap’s highly-anticipated 40th Anniversary.
Aerial pictures from filming that were obtained by Metro showed The Queen Vic blown to smithereens, whilst a marquee was set up in the Square Gardens.
Could this be from Billy and Honey’s wedding?
In scenes that aired last week, the couple were abuzz with excitement as they begin to prepare for their big day.
Whilst planning a disco, Billy also arranges a barbecue, which is a totally normal thing for a ceremony in February.
When word reaches Phil that they’re facing somewhat of a financial crisis, he puts the wheels in motion with Mo Harris (Laila Morse) for him to help support them.
Amid his mental health battle, we’ve seen the Walford stalwart sell and gift his business assets. Firstly, Peggy’s bar was sold to Nicola (Laura Doddington), whilst his half of The Boxing Den was handed over to old pal Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley).
With his condition worsening, Phil attempts to take his own life.
As the family recover from the tragedy, Billy’s half-brother Teddy (Roland Manookian) is eager for him to focus on the wedding and stay hopeful for brighter days ahead.
He pulls out all the stops for the joint stag and hen-do, but Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) struggles to enjoy herself at the party.
Her worries for Phil intensify when Mo informs her that the event was paid for out of his pocket, and she orders the clan to knuckle down to find him when he disappears.
As Sharon, Jay, Billy and Honey frantically search for the patriarch, his depression deepens and he begins to hallucinate scenes from his youth.
Through Phil’s eyes we’ll see him interact with younger versions of his mum Peggy, brother Grant, father Eric and Nigel.
After insisting that he’s fine, and refusing to allow Sharon to stage an intervention, Nigel deals one final lifeline and brings Grant (Ross Kemp) back to the East End.
