Former EastEnders star Davood Ghadami has reunited with his co-star James Bye, three years after leaving the BBC soap.

Davood, 42, played market trader Kush Kazemi for seven years before the character was controversially killed off – when abuser Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) pushed him in front of a tube train.

He was due to start a new life with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty), but didn’t realise that Gray was lurking in the shadows on the platform.

Introduced as the established friend of James’ Martin Fowler, it wasn’t long before the two men’s relationship was ruined.

Kush had fathered Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) son Arthur, with Martin believing him to be his own child.

There were arguments and fights aplenty but throughout it all, but the blokes’ relationship was soon repaired.

However, off-screen the two are stronger than ever, having reunited in a sweet snap on Instagram.

James shared an adorable photo of them both smiling into the camera, captioning it ‘Having dinner with a very ‘special’ friend.’

Davood re-shared the image to his own Instagram story, including a sticker that said ‘Ur special.’

After his EastEnders exit, Davood went on to appear as Eli Ebrahimi in the final year of Holby City.

Fans were saddened to see his role come to a close when the hit drama series was axed, but he was able to reprise it in parent show Casualty the following years.

Earlier this year it was reported that he has joined the cast of new Amazon Prime Video series House of David.

The religious drama is set to follow the story of biblical figure David, who became the King of Israel.

Davood will play David’s oldest brother Eliab, who serves as a prestigious warrior in King Saul’s army.
