EastEnders’ Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) has never been the straightest of coppers, but next week he finds himself helplessly drawn further and further into a world of crime – and it could soon land him behind bars.

As fans know, Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) is currently blackmailing the detective into doing his bidding at the Arches after obtaining video footage of Jack punching him.

It is all part of Penny Branning’s (Kitty Castledine) revenge plan on her father after he agreed to let her take the fall for Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) over the crush at Peggy’s.

In scenes to air next week, Harry turns the screw on Jack threatening to put him in prison unless he starts compliying.

After Harry tells Jack he’s got a job for him, Jack angrily declines and Harry reminds him that if he doesn’t collect a stolen motor as instructed, he’ll destroy Jack’s career and put him behind bars, using the incriminating video.

Knowing he has to go through with the job, Jack finds himself in a dire situation as he realises that Harry’s job clashes with daughter Amy Mitchell’s (Ellie Dadd) physio appointment.

He prioritises Amy but makes it back just in time to do the car job – but as he arrives home, he is distracted by a text from Harry and drives into the back of Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) car, causing damage to the stolen motor.

Little does he realise, however, that Harry had been lurking nearby and taken photos of Jack picking up the dodgy motor…
