There’s romance on the horizon for the Knight sisters Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford) in EastEnders this week – which spells bad news for half-brother Junior (Micah Balfour).

Junior is still licking his wounds after Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) called off their illicit affair after heeding the advice of former flame David Wicks (Michael French) last month.

He had admitted to his family that he had been secretly seeing someone, even admitting to dad George Knight (Colin Salmon) that he was in love – with George remaining in the dark about the fact the woman in question was his ex-wife.

But with George’s wedding to Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) just weeks away, Junior faces pressure from his siblings to bring his ‘mystery’ woman as his date to the nuptials.

In scenes to air this week, Junior is sad when he learns his son Xavier won’t be coming to the wedding, so Gina tries to cheer him up with a challenge – if she can get a date to the wedding in the next 24 hours, Junior has to bring his girlfriend as his plus one.

When Gina and Anna succeed in both bag themselves dates for the wedding, Gina revels in telling Junior he’s lost the bet and has to bring his mystery lady along.

Later, after Gina ribs him about being a love rat, Junior is forced to confess that he’s been dumped.

It also remains unconfirmed who Gina and Anna have bagged dates with – but fans will no doubt be hoping that Anna has finally agreed to make a go of things with long-term crush Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier).

Meanwhile, with preparations for their big day in full swing Elaine tries to persuade George to ask Junior to be his best man.

Fearing rejection, George can’t find the courage to do it, so he asks Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) instead.

Phil realises what’s going on and encourages George to be brave and speak to his son, and  George finally asks Junior.

But with Junior still cut up about his break-up with Cindy, will he reject his dad’s olive branch?
