EastEnders legend everyone misses, 47, is utterly unrecognisable as OAP for new role
Former EastEnders star Danny Dyer has had an incredible transformation into an old aged pensioner for a new ad campaign.
The Mick Carter actor – who is hotly tipped for a return to the BBC soap as part of an upcoming storyline – has been pictured undergoing an incredible makeover for gambling company Paddy Power.
Fans have speculated for weeks that the character’s ex-wife Linda (Kellie Bright), who is currently in the grips of her alcohol addiction, could die.
This was fuelled by paparazzi snaps that seemed to show the cast shooting her funeral, with former stars Maddy Hill and Danny Hatchard reprising their roles as Nancy and Lee Carter outside of a church.
Pictures also showed Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) looking emotional – while Linda was nowhere to be seen.
In next week’s instalments, she will face a life-changing and traumatic event and be on the centre stage in Monday’s episode.
Amid rumours the episode could involve a Christmas Carol-inspired storyline, with Linda presented with versions of her past, present and future, fans believe that Danny’s Mick could be staging a grand reprisal, two years on from shocking scenes that saw Mick swept out to sea.
Now, using heavy prosthetics, the 47 year old has had years added onto him for a new betting advert.
He’s unrecognisable from any previous role we’ve seen him in before, as a bald cap and thinning hair piece is added onto his head.
Other additions include wrinkles and further pieces of silicone attached to his cheeks.
On location outside of a house, he’s donning a Christmas jumper and slippers as he checks his phone.
Danny has been working with the company for some time, first appearing in their Euros promotions and alongside fellow brand ambassador Shaun Williamson, who played Barry Evans.
He’s also being kept busy with filming the second series of popular Sky Max comedy Mr Bigstuff.
At the end of November, he was spotted by fans in Canvey, and was pictured with fake blood on his face, hinting to some dramatic scenes ahead!
Series one of Mr Bigstuff follows carpet salesman Glen, played by actor and writer Ryan Sampson, in his seemingly perfect life with fiancé Kirsty (Harriet Webb) – until Danny’s character Lee comes crashing in, running from a past that is catching up with him.
Speaking to Metro ahead of the release of the first series, Danny and Ryan revealed how keen they were for a second series.
