Emmerdale star Olivia Bromley has taken to social media to pay tribute to co-star Dean Andrews after his emotional exit from the ITV soap.

Dean’s Dales alter-ego Will Taylor met a tragic end on Christmas Day when he suffered a heart attack, while wife Kim Tate (Claire King) tried desperately to save his life.

Unfortunately, her efforts were in vain, and Will was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following his sudden, unexpected exit, co-star Olivia, who has played Dawn Fletcher since 2018, took to Instagram to pay tribute to her on-screen dad.

‘End of an era,’ she wrote, alongside a picture of the Home Farm residents, and a selfie of her and Dean on set.

‘The best soap dad I could have ever asked for,’ she continued, before adding: ‘Thanks for covering up murders, beating up bad boyfriends and letting me live in your mansion rent free. Here’s to the Taylors.’

Fans were quick to respond to the sweet post with their own views on Will’s demise, with many already mourning the loss of the character.

‘Won’t be the same in Emmerdale without Will,’ one wrote, while another said: ‘Gutted!’

In the episodes following Will’s death, Dawn has grown suspicious of recent returnee Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), who has a colourful history.

When mentions of a post-mortem left Joe rattled, it didn’t go unnoticed by Dawn.

However, when she mentioned her suspicions to Kim, who is suddenly back in Joe’s good books, she leapt to his defence, leaving Dawn shocked.

Later, Joe promised Kim that he would speak to Dawn and his reassurance would be enough to force her to back off.

However, after they sat down together, it became clear that Dawn wanted nothing to do with him and continued to suspect that he was her dad’s killer.
