Viewers of Emmerdale may have worked out a horrifying twist involving Anthony Fox and missing teen April Windsor, after a clue in the latest episode.

A mystery hand injury and a gesture made by Anthony amid 15-year-old April remaining missing no doubt sparked further suspicions that the character may be involved. Just weeks ago we found out the sickening truth about his past, and how he sexually abused his daughter Ruby Miligan when she was a teenager.

Amid fears Anthony will turn out to be Ruby’s daughter Steph’s biological father, fans have wondered whether Anthony could know where April is. April was seen getting into the back of a car after she fled the village, while the driver was not shown.

Fans immediately suspected abuser Anthony could have taken April and may know where she is, as the police and villagers continue to search for her. Something that happened on Tuesday night, as well as recent episodes, only sparked more suspicions about what he might have done.

Anthony has had a mystery hand injury that he seemed to get on Christmas Day. His hand is wrapped in bandages, and he made up some claim about what had happened, while it seems he might be lying about it.

There was a comment earlier this week about Anthony going AWOL on Christmas Day, the same day April vanished. Then on Tuesday night as his son-in-law Caleb Miligan desperately tried to help Marlon Dingle find his missing daughter April, handing out posters and helping with the search as well as paying Marlon a visit, Anthony did something odd.

Amid there being a lot of focus on scenes involving Caleb, Ruby and Anthony as well as Steph, a later scene saw Anthony confirm an unexpected gesture. He vowed to donate £5,000 to the fund for the search of April, vowing the young girl must be brought home.

Anthony wouldn’t likely want to help with the search if he had been involved in her going missing, but might he be trying to throw people off the scent? Fans think the hand injury is linked to April going missing, wondering if he might have taken her.

Did April try to flee Anthony, causing the mystery injury to his now bandaged hand? One viewer posted: “Perhaps April bit him when he tried to kidnap her?”

Another said: “He’s got April, he’s faked being a friend to her and he’s got her somewhere.” A third fan posted: “She’s fought back and he’s covering a wound. He’s a wrong un. I don’t even believe he’s dying.”

A further theory read: “Anthony’s sore hand that he’s developed since Christmas day. Had he previously met April in his intros to half the village? He’s my suspect no. 1 he has interest in young girls when his daughter was. Now worried for April.” Another said: “I wonder if Anthony was the one who tried to pick her up, he did something, April bit him and ran off?”
