Emmerdale fans are sure Joe Tate is set to ‘murder’ someone else.

Fans of the ITV soap have already blamed recently returned Joe – played by Ned Porteous – for the shocking death of Will Taylor. Will died on Christmas Day, with Kim left horrified by what happened.

Joe has been desperate to support her, but fans are suspecting he might have an ulterior motive. In scenes that aired this evening, Joe was seen giving Kim one of his sleeping pills, with Dawn later walking in and thinking the worst.

Fans are convinced that Joe had killed Will and is now planning to kill Kim after noticing he was taking a pillow. Whilst he said he was just trying to make her comfortable, Dawn woke her up and checked she was ok. Kim seemed unfazed by it all and headed upstairs to go and have a proper sleep, leading to Dawn confronting Joe about his intentions.

One fan penned: “What was he gonna do with the pillow? #Emmerdale,” whilst a second added: “I reckon Joe gonna try and kill Kim #Emmerdale.” A third suggested: “Joe seriously looked as if he was about to smother Kim with the cushion! #Emmerdale.”

A fourth said: “#Emmerdale Why did Dawn not tell Kim what she just saw Joe doing??” with a fifth adding: “Joseph really looked like he was gonna smother her if Dawn hadn’t walked in…. #Emmerdale @emmerdale.”

Earlier this week, Dawn expressed concern over her dad’s death, convinced Joe had something to do with it.

“I’ve been thinking about when we could have it. Well, it depends on when we get the results of the postmortem. I just wanna do right by dad. I don’t wanna leave anything to the last minute,” she said.

Joe left Dawn and Billy to give them some “space”, taking him with him. It left Dawn frustrated as she noticed that Joe seemed shady when she mentioned there would be a post-mortem. She said: “He was trying to act like it was nothing, but he was stressing. It’s like he’s come in, he’s taking over and he’s just controlling everything. There’s definitely something going on, isn’t there?”
