Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ Zak Dingle’s long-lost son’s true identity – and he’s in village
Emmerdale viewers are convinced they have worked out the identity of Zak Dingle's long-lost son, Nathan, with some fans believing he is a beloved village resident
Emmerdale viewers reckon they’ve figured out the ‘true’ identity of Zak Dingle’s mysterious long-lost son, Nathan- and he’s hiding in plain sight as a Dales local.
Soap legend Zak (played by late Steve Halliwell) sadly exited the drama after Halliwell’s real-life passing last December at 77 years old. Since storming onto the scene back in ’94, Zak has led the Dingle troop, becoming a soap staple.
With three marriages and a brood that includes Cain (Jeff Hordley), Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper), Tina (Samantha Power), Butch (Paul Loughran), Sam (James Hooton), and Ben (Steve Jackson)Zak’s family tree is deep-rooted in Emmerdale history.
But there’s one branch that’s still shrouded in secrecy: Nathan, the unseen son of Zak and Nellie Dingle (Sandra Gough), who’s been MIA since being hinted at in the ’90s. The elusive Nathan has apparently cut all ties with the Dingles, leaving fans to speculate about his whereabouts for years.
That is until nowa hot Reddit debate suggests Nathan could be any one of the familiar faces gracing the village. One fan teased the idea of Nathan stepping back into the fold saying: “It would be interesting to see how Cain reacts to being the head of the family knowing that his eldest brother is still alive and takes his place he was said to be stuck up lol if and if he’s got kids they’ll be more grandchildren of Zak’s.”, reports Leeds Live.
Over on an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, the chat’s been buzzing with talk of Nathan Dingle. One fan chimed in: “They should reintroduce Nathan, there’s definitely a story for him.” Another piped up in support: “It would have a lot of potential!”
Then, a third fan spun a wild theory about Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) secretly being Nathan, suggesting: “What if Dr Liam is really him all this time? ” Someone else jumped in: “That would be good.” And yet another fan thought it was feasible, adding: “It could work, they would have to retcon a few things but good idea!”
Flashback to October, when Emmerdale shocked viewers by bringing Zak’s long-lost daughter Tina back into the fold after nearly 30 years, now portrayed by Samantha Power. It all went down at Zak’s funeral where she demanded her slice of his legacy and dropped a bombshell on Mandy (Lisa Riley), revealing she’s the actual mum of Vinny Dingle, played by Bradley Johnson.
