Fears confirmed for two major characters as Kim goes to ‘extreme lengths’ in Emmerdale

Emmerdale viewers have seen Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) and Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) conspiring together to try to destroy Kim Tate (Claire King), and so far their plans have been successful. With Dawn (Olivia Bromley) believing that Kim spiked her drink, causing her to crash her car, Kim has been shunned by the family and has moved out of Home Farm.

This has left the way clear for Rose to enact Ruby’s plan of seducing Will (Dean Andrews) to destroy his marriage with Kim – but Kim is already on to what’s happening. After Lydia (Karen Blick) overheard a  phone call between Rose and another person (who was actually Ruby) discussing the scheme, Kim is now just biding her time until she can make a move to take Rose down and reclaim her empire.

First she has to find out who Rose is working for, and Claire King told us how her suspicion shifts to Ruby.

‘She’s staying at the village and she sees Caleb (William Ash) and she thinks Caleb’s possibly the person that’s actually doing this or dealing with the dealer,’ she explained.

‘And she’s then put off by Caleb, who gives her some advice about Ruby: “Watch her, because she can get going.” That’s when Kim suddenly drops the bomb and thinks, “Ruby – right. I’m off to see her.’

Claire predicted that Ruby will underestimate how dangerous Kim is, as she told us: ‘I think Ruby would like to think Kim’s met her match. I don’t think she’s on a par with Kim. Kim could be a little bit more dangerous, I think, than Ruby.’

While we’ve seen a softer side to Kim in recent years, Claire has no doubt that she’s still a fierce opponent and capable of anything if the circumstances warrant it.

‘I think she snaps because she’s got this lioness within her, so she’s very protective of her family. When she goes, she goes, but it’s usually for a reason. And what she thinks is a good reason might not be a good reason to somebody else. But she always sees it as a good reason. So I do defend her on those sorts of things, though she does kind of go to extremes at times.

‘It’s been a very nice sort of two or three years of playing happy families. I think that it’s always going to be within her and it’s going to come out at some point. I fear for Rose and I fear for Ruby.’

It’s going to be Kim carnage, as she sets her sights on Rose and Ruby – but once Kim Tate’s ‘Killer Kim’ bad side has been re-awakened, there could be others in her sights, as Claire pointed out.

‘There’s a few though, that have wronged her in the last few storylines, so there’s Rose to sort out, Ruby, Will’s got to have a bit of a slap around the chops. So yeah, there’s a few. Probably Caleb in there just for good measure. Maybe chuck a Dingle in there! Sounds a bit busy, doesn’t it?’ she laughed.

‘Can’t wait. I’ve got them all lined up!’
