Chas reveals a harrowing truth in Emmerdale that leaves Cain utterly shocked
Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is set to reveal a huge secret that will blow things wide open in Emmerdale.
Finally cracking under the weight of her terrible secret, Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) confessed to Chas her fears for how Steph was really conceived – through sexual abuse.
Chas was horrified and urged Ruby not only to open up to Caleb Miligan (William Ash), but to find out once and for all who Steph’s (Georgia Jay) father is.
Ruby took up one of Chas’ suggestions but baulked at the idea of confessing to Caleb that he might not he Steph’s dad. Instead, she opted for the DNA test.
Resourceful Ruby managed to get a hair sample from Steph by claiming to have spotted a grey hair, and swiftly sent off the package.
The package came back with the results, which were discovered in her handbag by Caleb while on the hunt for painkillers. In his hand he held the secret that could blow the family wide apart.
But while Ruby and Caleb deal with what this means for their family, there’s another devastating truth to be told.
Having learned what a monster Anthony (Nicholas Day) truly is, Chas is struggling to keep the knowledge to herself.
When she learns that Nicola King (Nichola Wheeler) has agreed to allow Anthony to tutor Angel (Rebecca Bakes) unsupervised, Chas realises she has to protect this young girl. Breaking Ruby’s confidence, Chas tells Nicola that Angel is not safe with him.
Cain later finds Chas in quite a state in the back room and his mind immediately goes to his own secret. He believes that Chas knows.
But he’s not sure, and he needs to find out the truth. As his anxiety ramps up, he pressures Chas into revealing what it is that has made her so terribly upset.
Taking a deep breath, Chas reveals the whole horrifying truth.
Later, a gunshot rings out and Anthony is found dead. Did Cain have anything to do with it?
