Emmerdale confirms Steph’s real father as Ruby drops shocking news
Emmerdale spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (January 15) episode that is now available to view on ITVX. The episode in question will air on ITV1 on at 7:30pm.
Caleb Milligan’s (William Ash) world crumbled before his very eyes as he discovered a DNA test in wife Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) handbag that confirmed Steph (Georgia Jay) isn’t his daughter.
Ruby, as viewers know, was sexually abused by father Anthony (Nicholas Day) when she was a teenager and with the abuser back in her life, her life has turned upside down.
After a conversation with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), she resolved to find out once and for all as to whether or not Steph was Anthony’s biological child but, upon seeing her daughter bonding with Caleb, she decided to rip the DNA test up.
Little did she know, however, that Caleb had already found the document in her handbag.
Ruby rushed back to Mill Cottage, where a heartbroken Caleb confronted her on the situation as the document confirmed that he’s not Steph’s father.
Ruby was devastated. Much like she suspected, this means that rapist Anthony is Steph’s biological father.
Ruby didn’t reveal this information, however, and instead reminded Caleb that he is Steph’s dad in every way that counts.
Unaware of the full story, Caleb claimed that there was no way back for them after this, ending their marriage and kicking Ruby out.
Will Ruby reveal the whole truth? Will Anthony get his comeuppance? Or will she keep shtum so that Steph never finds out the truth?
Next week is a big one for this storyline, with Anthony set to be shot dead. The question is: who is responsible?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
