Disgraced Emmerdale villager exits as she quits after 5 years
Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) has left the Emmerdale village.
The character, who is mum to Luke and Lee, had a terrible week after being approached by a journalist.
The lady had intel on her dodgy past, and told Wendy that unless she gave her information on other members of the village, she’d expose all of her secrets.
Viewers will know that Wendy used her married name to qualify as a nurse so that she didn’t have to declare her criminal convictions, which could have stopped her getting a job.
In a bid to save her livelihood, Wendy told her all about Rhona Goskirk’s (Zoe Henry) kidnapping of baby Ivy, as well as Ella Forster’s (Paula Lane) killer childhood.
Ella was understandably heartbroken to have her past dragged up again, which prompted Wendy to come clean to Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
With the surgery at risk, the pair let Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) in on the secret, and it’s safe to say that she was far from impressed.
She berated Wendy for her reckless decisions, and was equally horrified to realise that Liam already knew about her fraud.
In a bid to quash the trouble, Liam realised he had no choice but to sack Wendy, which she understood.

As a shameful Wendy had her secret exposed to more of her friends, she decided leaving would be the best option.
After announcing to Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) that son Luke has offered her his spare room, Wendy prepared to leave in tonight’s instalment.
Vic tried to tell Wendy that she really didn’t need to leave, but the character felt humiliated by her actions.
After packing up her things, Wendy said goodbye to the likes of Manpreet and Liam. She wished Liam well following their affair, and said he deserved to be happy.
Wendy then said a farewell to Vic and her grandson Harry and got into her car. She drove away, leaving Bob alone.
Susan Cookson’s departure from the soap comes amid huge changes for both Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
This year, we also know Paula Lane, Roxy Shahidi and Lesley Dunlop are leaving the Dales, with multiple Corrie stars also saying goodbye to Weatherfield too.
