Emmerdale star ruled out of ice lake death – despite her imminent exit
Emmerdale’s Paula Lane has dropped a hint that suggests her character won’t die in the upcoming ice lake stunt.
Paula joined the ITV soap last year as Ella Forster. As she began her new job at the local surgery, Ella started showing an interest in Doctor Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
The two characters then started going on dates, but as time ticked on, Ella gradually appeared to be showing signs of hiding something from her new friends in the village.
After Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) found Ella visiting an old lady called June in a care home, she confronted her about it. Ella reacted with high emotion and said June is very important to her, but didn’t tell Manpreet why.
It was attending June’s funeral a few days after her death that ultimately saw Ella’s secret exposed. We learnt that when she was a child, she killed her best friend – June’s daughter – in a state of rage.
Ella had spent time behind bars, but her life outside of prison saw her move from place to place constantly. She would hide her identity, it would be discovered, and then she’d be forced to leave.
Things for Ella have been a little different this time, as most of the residents in the Dales have come to accept her for who she is. Sadly though, with Paula Lane’s departure from the ITV soap being widely reported, the character won’t be in the village for much longer.
Ahead of the dramatic ice stunt taking place in a few weeks time, fans of the show have been wondering if Ella will be killed off.
This doesn’t look set to happen, as Paula Lane recently shared a picture on her Instagram stories, confirming she is still filming.
She is pictured alongside Lisa Riley, who plays Ella’s friend Mandy Dingle. They are both wearing ITV robes and because of how far in advance they film, it more or less suggests she isn’t leaving in the near future.
Paula has also posted a video on her Instagram as she leaves work for the day.
Teasing what she had been up to, she said: ‘Just leaving work. Oh my, it has been baltic today. I am freezing. But what an amazing day on set, loads covered. Scenes where you can really get your teeth stuck into it’.
