Emmerdale favourite Danny Miller has thanked fans and clarified his future on the ITV soap after last night’s explosive episode.

Vile Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) was killed off – and it appears that Danny’s character Aaron Dingle was the person responsible.

He’d discovered that Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) had been raped by her father, and recognising the way she behaved around him, related it to his own childhood sexual abuse.

Later, Aaron caught up with Anthony and confronted him over his behaviour. He told the paedophile that whilst he could easily kill him, he had people who loved him in the village and didn’t want to jeopardise his future.

Instead, he would drive him to the police station to confess to his actions.

Anthony wasn’t having any of it – and proceeded to make horrific comments about Ruby. Aaron became enraged and brutally attacked him.

After discovering what Aaron had done, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) returned to the depot with him where they realised Anthony was dead.

John then bundled his body into a bag and offered to dispose of it, whilst Aaron had to face the fact he’d killed a man.

Danny has now revealed that he isn’t going anywhere – sharing a picture of the moment John declared Anthony dead, writing: ‘“Don’t say that John, I’ve got two kids and a mortgage to pay! I need another contract!!!!!”’

He continued to his 712,000 followers: ‘Joking aside, thank you all so much for your lovely messages about tonight’s episode. I was so honoured to be involved in such a big episode and storyline. Nicholas Day, is one of life’s beautiful gifts. On set and off set.

‘A shame he had to leave us @emmerdale because everyone fell in love with him from day one – me being at the front of that queue

‘It’s the end for Anthony – but it’s the beginning of a long road in this storyline and where it goes from here…. Is told brilliantly from the incredible team upstairs to the equally incredible team on the floor downstairs.’

He continued: ‘I LOVE MY JOB!

‘I hope it helped anyone who may have been affected and of course as alway, if there is anyone who has been affected by this storyline – there is so much support on the ITV & Emmerdale websites – for those who feel they want or need it
‘Sending so much love, support and thanks for seeing the fiction but recognising the reality that this happens. And it’s never too late. Love you all.’

Aaron is now wondering how he will navigate life after becoming a murderer, and despite being thankful for John’s intervention, was shocked at how easily he took it in his stride.

Will Aaron be found out?
