Eagle-eyed Emmerdale fans spot Georgia Jay in major drama
If you were tuned into BBC One last night, you may have spotted a familiar face from Emmerdale – Georgia Jay, who plays Steph Miligan.
Georgia joined the ITV soap last year as the daughter of Ruby (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb (William Ash), and has already been at the centre of a high profile storyline.
The character was estranged from her parents and their fractured relationship was evident from the outset.
One person she was particularly close to was maternal grandfather Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day), which made her mother deeply uncomfortable.
It later transpired that Ruby was abused by her father as a teenager, and as a result, had fears about Steph’s paternity. Unfortunately, a DNA test revealed the horrifying truth.
With the secret now in the open, it wasn’t long before Anthony met his end at the hands of one villager. Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) had attacked him and is now convinced that he’s a murderer.
Steph has been determined to track her granddad down, not realising that he has perished and still unaware that he’s actually her dad.
Ruby is terrified of the truth outing, for fears of losing her daughter again.
Before joining soapland, actress Georgia began her career in 2015 and made her small screen debut in SyFy television film Lake Placid vs. Anaconda.
She’s also starred in BBC Two crime drama Giri/Haji.
Last night, she made a brief appearance in the 28th series of Silent Witness.
The crime drama, which begin in 1996, currently stars Emilia Fox as Dr Nikki Alexander and David Caves as Jack Hodgson, a pair of forensic pathologists.
In the latest episode, Nikki found herself in a crisis on board a plane from Mumbai to London.
