We’ve said goodbye to Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell), Tom King (James Chase), and Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) from Emmerdale in recent weeks, and we’re expecting to lose Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop). But is the axe set to fall on yet another favourite face? Our little hearts can’t take it.
Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) first graced our screens nearly 21 years ago when he was born in 2004 to Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Chris Tate, but now the return of big brother Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) could signify the end of the Dingle’s two-decade reign.
Slimey Joe has been sneaking into Noah’s life, despite mum Charity’s protestations, and his latest move could dissolve Charity’s happy little family.
Charity has been doing her darndest to get Joe to leave Noah alone, but she’s only spurred him on – and inadvertently encouraged Noah to go against her too.
Joe and Noah even faked a dispute in an effort to get Charity off their backs, although it ended in tears when not-so-bright-spark sparky Noah wore the distinctive watch Joe gave him and ultimately gave the game away.
Charity threw a fit, but only pushed Noah further into Joe’s clutches.
Little does he know, that Joe is just as slippery as Charity thinks he is. She was ignored about Tom too – when will the village start to trust that Charity’s toe-rag radar is always spot on?!
Noah’s business has been receiving some reputationally damaging bad reviews, which has been getting him down. Joe tries to bolster him, concealing the fact he is the one secretly posting them.
It’s the perfect situation for Joe to plant a seed – he paints a scene of Noah living the life of Riley living and working in the sunnier climes of tax haven Dubai, without an interfering mother or a failing business to worry about.
Noah’s eyes light up when Joe suggests he can make the dream happen with just a few calls.
He excitedly shares the news of the plans for his future with his mum, and Charity instantly tries to shut him down.
But Noah can already taste the high life. Is he about to up sticks and head to the UAE?
Charity is ready to fight for her son though. She sneaks up to Home Farm and steals a laptop in an effort to uncover whatever secret Joe is hiding. But what will she find?
