Emmerdale’s Ruby reveals a huge secret about Anthony as Steph reels
Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) sat daughter Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) down for an important conversation in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale.
In recent days, Steph has grown terribly worried about her granddad Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day). The evil man was killed by Ruby last week after a number of village residents discovered his true self, but Steph doesn’t know any of this.
As far as Steph was concerned, Anthony suddenly disappeared after agreeing to meet her at the depot. In the instalment of the ITV soap that aired tonight, Ruby had a chat with Steph about Anthony, in the hope she would give up looking for him.
Yesterday, Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) told the police about attacking Anthony and how she feared she had killed him. She was let go, but her report prompted the police to visit Ruby and Caleb Miligan (William Ash).
The two officers asked the couple if they knew anything about Laurel’s attack and Anthony going missing. Ruby managed to create a good cover story, revealing that her dad often takes off without any notice.
The police believed her, and they left after asking for Anthony to get in contact with them if possible.
Just as they departed, Steph returned home. Ruby told her that it was important she knew the truth, which left Caleb fearful she was going to tell her about who her real dad is.
Ruby actually told Steph that Anthony has never been a good man, and would often be violent to her and her mum when they all lived together. In shock, Steph refused to believe Ruby’s claims.
The character later found her daughter on the bridge. Because she had time to process what Ruby had said, Steph approached the situation differently.
She felt sad for her mum, and wondered what her home life was like with Anthony. Ruby described the ordeal as ‘relentless’, but kept her daughter protected from the complete truth by saying Anthony wasn’t an abuser.
The two characters hugged. It seemed as though this was a turning point for Steph – will she give up trying to find answers regarding Anthony now?
Is the truth about what happened to him really buried forever?
