Ella and Liam’s future revealed in Emmerdale after child killer secret
Emmerdale has confirmed the future for Ella Forster (Paula Lane) and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), after they sparked hopes of a reunion.
The pair have had a rocky road in their relationship, with Liam horrified when a shock twist revealed that Ella had killed her best friend at 11 years old.
His discovery split the couple up, but they have since been drawn closer together after Ella fell pregnant with their baby.
Earlier this week, Ella and Liam shared a kiss, and Friday’s episode saw Liam trying to deduce what the development meant.
As they left his cottage this morning, Liam appeared confused by Ella’s suggestion they ‘start over’ and the previous night had been perfect.
He later arrived at the salon to ask her out on a date, but Ella rejected him, explaining he had misunderstood her comments, as she’d meant they were ‘starting over as friends’ and the previous night had been ‘perfect closure’.
When she realised that Liam was only inviting her on a date out of pity, feeling guilty about how he’d treated her after finding out about her killer secret, she threw him out.
But is this really the end of the line for the couple?
We do know that Ella will be sticking round in the Dales for the foreseeable though, as Paula recently signed a new contract with the soap.
She told Inside Soap Magazine: ‘I’m very, very happy. You never know how things will unfold, but I hope that I’m doing enough to develop a character that’s got some staying power, because I’m very settled here. I couldn’t have asked for more!’
There is still plenty more to come for Ella, it would seem, as new producer Sophie Roper has also teased.
