Moira distraught in Emmerdale as radiotherapy symptoms hit her
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) faces another upsetting reminder of how much her life has changed in Emmerdale soon, as she’s hit with symptoms as a result of having radiotherapy treatment.
Last year, Moira was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She was told by a doctor that she could undergo surgery, or attempt to live with managing the diagnosis through medication.
At first, Moira chose the latter option, which meant her family had to adjust to a new way of living as well. This meant keeping an eye on Moira at all times, but being prepared to face upsetting moments if she was to experience a seizure.
It was thinking about her children finding her in a bad way that ultimately made Moira change her mind.
She had the surgery, but was then told tests on the tumour showed it was a type that might come back without further treatment. More specifically, radiotherapy.
In upcoming episodes, Moira realises a chunk of her hair has fallen out. This happens in front of Cain (Jeff Hordley), and a panicked Moira tells him to leave her alone.
He heads to the pub and finds Charity (Emma Atkins) and Lydia (Karen Blick). There, Cain opens up about his situation with Moira and suddenly, he has a spark of inspiration on how to cheer her up.
Cain’s efforts to help Moira are of course tainted with nothing but guilt, given she still doesn’t know he slept with Ruby (Beth Cordingly) when she was having her operation.
Days before Anthony (Nicholas Day) was murdered, he told Caleb (William Ash) about his brother’s betrayal in a final attempt to stop him from pulling the trigger on his gun.
Ever since, Caleb has been sitting on the secret, wondering what to do.
Is it only a matter of time until things explode for these characters?
And what on earth will it do to Moira if she finds out?
