April Windsor has been struggling with the thought of going home after she was found in Emmerdale.

The teenager ran away from home when she found out she was pregnant. Worried what Marlon and Rhona might think, she decided not to tell them and disappeared to try and see some friends in Leeds.

With no support from them, she was forced to sleep on the streets. Tragically, she had a stillbirth in a public bathroom and then was rushed to hospital when a worried passer by noticed she looked poorly.

April is struggling with her family and reuniting with them after all that’s happened, and there are fears she won’t ever come back to Emmerdale as she is worried about what other people think of what she has done.

Will April make a return to the Dales? Or is she set to leave for good? Mark Charnock – who plays Marlon – had previously hinted April would return but admitted it wouldn’t be easy for the teenager.

April's future has been sealed

“It’s not straightforward; it’s almost being like missing in your house. The old them has gone. I think the good thing about it is that it’ll reunite the family because they’re all at a level playing field trying to make it work for her,” he said.

“They’re all treading on egg shells – it’s not just Marlon – and I was saying before, it’s like they’ve been searching this human haystack and now they’ve got the needle back, it’s just a different being, with different reference points and a different attitude.”

As for how Marlon will cope if April does come back to the village, Mark admitted his character will face a lot of guilt.

He explained: “I think it’s really difficult. If she was to come back, he’s going to be so terrified of losing her again, it will change every conversation with her. It will make anybody more anxious; and he’ll feel on some level it’s his fault. That guilt, when he means so much to her, that he’ll carry with him, will be like a cloud around him for quite a while.”
