Kim Tate (Claire King) developed a plan recently in Emmerdale to try and find out what Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) was up to.
The much-loved character has been surprised by Joe’s change in personality following his return to the village. Instead of the scheming, troublesome approach he previously had, Joe has been supporting Kim and trying to build a relationship with Noah Dingle (Jack Downham).
However, because he’s been a bit too nice, Kim has convinced herself that he’s hiding something.
Determined to get some answers, she planted a recorder in Joe’s room and later heard him talking about how the ‘thing’ he previously feared would happen, has now happened.
In upcoming episodes, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) confronts Joe and reveals she knows all about his affair with Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).
Later, he comes across Kim’s audio bug and pretends to take a family phone call, knowing she’ll more than likely listen in.
Meanwhile, Charity and Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) remind Noah that if he was to move to Dubai, he’d miss an awful lot at home.
Their plan appears to be a success, as Noah later informs Joe that he won’t be taking the Dubai job, but he’s spooked by his sibling’s reaction to the news.
The next day, after realising his tools have been stolen from his van overnight, Noah is forced into a corner and tells Joe that he’ll take the job offer after all.
Just as Joe begins to celebrate his brother’s move, Charity and Noah reveal they knew about him stealing the tools all along.
Furious he’s been conned, Joe is later seen taking another phone call but this time, it concerns Noah.
What is going on?
Is Joe about to put Noah in danger in an act of revenge?
