Emmerdale spoilers follow for Friday’s (February 7) episode that is now available to view on ITVX. The episode in question will air on ITV1 on at 7:30pm.
April Windsor’s (Amelia Flanagan) return home didn’t go as smoothly as Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) would have hoped, with the concerned dad feeling like he’s handled everything all wrong.
April, as viewers know, vanished without a trace on Christmas Day and, after over a month of searching, the police delivered an update earlier this week, with PC Swirling (Andy Moore) confirming that she had been located.
Marlon was overwhelmed upon being reunited with his daughter but he was left in shock when he discovered that April had been pregnant and subsequently lost the baby.
Friday’s (February 7) edition of the ITV soap saw April return home to Smithy Cottage but being back under the same roof as her loved ones proved difficult, with the teen swiftly heading out to get some fresh air.
Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) worried about the prospect of her not returning home but Marlon was adamant that April needed to feel like she could trust them and thus he opted to not go looking for her.
The longer the day went on, however, the more concerned he became and he confided in Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) and later Rhona, admitting that he worries he’s handled this all wrong as, by not asking more questions, he fears April might think he doesn’t care.
Ross Barton (Michael Parr), meanwhile, located April in the graveyard and offered a friendly ear. April confided in him about her pregnancy, stating that the father was a lad she met at a party.
Back at Smithy Cottage, Marlon was worried sick about April not having returned home but he was awash with relief when she arrived back with Ross in tow.
April confirmed that she would have dinner but made it clear that she was going up to her room, leaving Marlon at his wit’s end.
Will he and April be able to get back on the same page? Can he get April to open up about what she went through?
