Emmerdale’s Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) will be rattled to discover Kim Tate’s (Claire King) secret distrust of him, a spoiler video for next week’s episodes has teased.
Joe returned to the village over Christmas as part of Will Taylor’s (Dean Andrews) plot to bring down ex-wife Kim. But after Will died suddenly, Joe and Kim have appeared to put their past misgivings behind them, with Joe even moving in to live with her at Home Farm.
However, in the weeks since, it has become more and more obvious to viewers that not everything is quite as it seems with Joe.
Kim has also become convinced he’s hiding something and has planted a recorder in his room, determined to get some answers.
Some of these recordings later landed in the hands of Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), who broke into Home Farm in an attempt to get evidence against Joe. She has her own feud with Joe over her son Noah Dingle (Jack Downham), who is Joe’s half-brother.
The recordings revealed to Charity that Joe has been having an affair with Kim’s step-daughter Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley), and next week, she goes to confront Joe armed with the evidence.
As you can see in our spoiler video from Monday’s episode, Joe is taken aback to find Charity waiting for him at Home Farm.
She hopes to use the recording to get Joe to halt his offer to help Noah land a job in Dubai.
He’s unaffected by Charity’s knowledge of his affair, telling her: ‘Your little threat doesn’t really mean anything.
‘I’ve got nothing to hide, I’m single. I can sleep with whoever I want.’
He is, however, rattled to realise the recording means that Kim doesn’t trust him, and later finds the bug in his room.
What action will he take next? And is the peace between him and Kim is officially over?
