Mary aches for love in Emmerdale – with woman who is taken
Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) just wants to be happy in Emmerdale, but living in the same village as someone she has strong feelings for is becoming more and more of a challenge.
After Mary came out, Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) became her confidante as she navigated the world of dating.
The events planner was also Mary’s source of support during the awful Faye debacle which saw Mary fall for a con-woman who scammed her for thousands of pounds.
As a result, Mary started developing feelings for her friend. Sadly though, because this happened around the same time Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) got back to the village, Mary believed she didn’t stand a chance as Suzy began spending time with her ex again.

After Suzy spent the night on Vanessa’s sofa, she knew addressing their relationship was important, but she couldn’t stop thinking about Mary.
During a chat, Suzy asked Mary how she felt about her. Aware of what was going on, Mary prevented herself from any possible hurt and told Suzy that she’s a good friend.
In upcoming episodes, Mary will once again feel the ache in her heart when she spots Vanessa and Suzy together. She realises how happy they are in their relationship, leaving her devastated.
Poor Mary!
Vanessa and Suzy’s relationship could well be put in jeopardy soon, as both characters will be involved in the build-up of an frozen lake stunt.
They will leave the village in a limo alongside their village friends. As this happens, a group of male residents will also do the same in their own limo.
Driving along, disaster will strike and one vehicle will end up crashing into some icy water.
If it’s the limo with the women inside, will Vanessa and Suzy both make it out alive?
