Caleb and Cain in final shocking showdown in Emmerdale as death looms

The secret is exposed at last (Picture: ITV)

Betraying a brother is one thing. Betraying a brother under Dingle Law is quite another.

It usually results in a fight to the death, and Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is on borrowed time now that Caleb Miligan (William Ash) knows the truth – that Cain and Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) slept together.

He didn’t believe it at first, having heard from Anthony (Nicholas Day), an unreliable source. But having had confirmation from an unwitting Steph (Georgia Jay) and from their guilty behaviours, Caleb is practically breathing fire.

Caleb has previously confronted Cain about sleeping with his wife, but Cain easily deflected his accusations, blaming them as ramblings of a man – Anthony – desperate to save his own life.

It was Steph inadvertently confirming the morning after pill Caleb had found in the rubbish wasn’t hers that made the penny drop.

Ruby and Cain’s lies are rapidly coming undone, and Caleb is looking for the perfect revenge.

Having attempted to get Cain framed for Anthony’s murder unsuccessfully, he’s still plotting the fitting justice. Cain has broken the Dingle code, and Caleb needs to sort it.

So, when Liam (Jonny McPherson) invites all the men out in the limo he’s hired, Caleb offers to be the driver so that he can sit as far from Cain as he can.

But his concentration is anywhere but on the road.

With a commotion behind him in the car after a row breaks out, Caleb’s mind wanders long enough for him to find himself staring at the headlights of a truck heading straight for them.

Or, does he drive at it on purpose?

Whatever the case, at the last second, he swerves, and the limo crashes off the road.

With at least one Emmerdale resident set to die in the crash and others badly injured, is Cain one of the victims?

Natalie Ann Jamieson gave a little insight into these hugely eventful episodes: ‘It’s a very serious end to the episode and it has repercussions and certain repercussions for people.’ What happens to Cain and Caleb?
