Controversial axed Emmerdale star Asan N’Jie confirms girlfriend’s pregnancy
Former Emmerdale star Asan N’Jie has announced his girlfriend’s pregnancy, five years on from his soap axing.
The actor, 30, played Ellis Chapman on the ITV soap between September 2018 and October 2019.
Posting a photo of his partner Kirsty at her baby shower, he wrote: ‘Can’t wait to meet liccle baby boy!!’
This was followed up by a picture of them both in hospital, where Asan penned: ‘Getting ready for the sleepless nights.’
A number of his former co-stars rushed to the comments section to send their congratulations, with April Windsor star Amelia Flanagan writing: ‘Congrats Asan, so happy for you.’
Michelle Hardwick, better known to viewers as Vanessa Woodfield, said: ‘Beautiful news! Congratulations to you both.’

‘Ahhh congratulations darling! How exciting! So happy for you!’ added Fiona Wade, who played Priya Sharma.
In late 2019, Asan was immediately dismissed from his Emmerdale duties following a fight with Jamie Lomas, who played Warren Fox in Hollyoaks.
The two actors were caught on video having a confrontation after the TV Choice Awards, which reportedly took place at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London.
According to reports, Asan was escorted from the premises by security and allegedly made threats to ‘kill’ Jamie.
Following Emmerdale’s decision to axe the actor, Asan released a statement, which said: ‘My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.
‘I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.

‘I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.’
The role of Ellis was subsequently recast, with Aaron Anthony taking over. He departed the show in 2022.
Since leaving the show, Asan has continued to act, with guest roles in James Nesbitt vehicle Bloodlands and in Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon alongside Amanda Abbington.
According to IMDb, he has three projects currently in the pipeline – Downforce, Riot Women and Giant.
