Emmerdale’s Cain gutted by another rejection – and it’s not Moira
While Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) can deal with most of the Emmerdale village hating him for betraying Moira (Natalie J Robb), what hits him hard is son Kyle (Huey Quinn) refusing to give him the time of day.
Cain told Moira about sleeping with Ruby (Beth Cordingly) last week. Not long after, he sat Kyle down and explained that he hadn’t been very honest with his stepmum.
Hours after losing his mum to the limo crash, Kyle reacted in a way that surprised both Cain and Moira. The young lad said that his dad is a hypocrite for telling Kyle and Isaac that it’s important to own up to mistakes, and then not even doing that himself.
Kyle has been short with Cain ever since this happened, because he claimed he wouldn’t ever forgive him for hurting Moira.
In last night’s episode, Cain found Kyle in the café buying snacks ahead of a football tournament, but was disappointed when his son said that he wasn’t invited.
Moira went along to the game, but Cain didn’t, largely due to finding Ruby in the woods and needing to help her.
When Cain returned home, he found two trophies on the table. Kyle explained one of them was gifted to just him, because he was player of the tournament.
Cain was incredibly proud of his boy and said he really wishes he was there, and Kyle agreed.

Kyle then spoke and for a moment, Cain thought he was going to ask for a hug. When he said he actually just needed to leave for a shower, Cain was certainly gutted.
Compared to last week, the dynamic is now shifting between father and son.
The conversation they had last night was a small amount of progress and hopefully in time, as Cain mentioned, he can earn Kyle’s forgiveness.
